Therapy for Couples, Individuals, and Families
I provide therapy to individuals, couples and families. I typically see adults and adolescents for individual therapy; all ages are able to participate in family sessions. Couples of all types, beliefs, and stages are welcome.
I utilize an attachment-focused lens in all of my work and conceptualizations. I believe that we are all social creatures who are better equipped to explore, take risks, and attempt the most difficult tasks in life when we feel that others will help us if we fail. Both as children and adults, when those foundational supports are threatened or crumble beneath, we struggle.
Please click any of the links for my summary on any particular modality. I tend to heavily utilize the three following therapies.
I personally love utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) because it both speaks to our injuries and helps us feel seen and safe and simultaneously challenges us to take risks that we have stopped taking because we are scared of being let down. In my experience, most of our deepest injuries that need the most healing are relational at their core.
I also believe that each of us is ultimately responsible to care for our own needs. I utilize both Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to impart the skills needed to help each of us overcome previous injuries, to empower my clients to take charge of their own lives, to find a sense of mindfulness, to identify their values that help guide them through difficult choices, and help their observer-self develop and then help overcome previous traumas and injuries that they have run from because of fears of being overcome and overwhelmed.
In all of my work, I believe it is my role to help clients develop a deep understanding of emotions in order to overcome past injuries. My goal is to help uncover, name, and encourage exploration and acceptance of those emotions as those core emotions can both guide us to the deeper problems and draw others in to help us resolve them when expressed vulnerably and honestly.
Therapy is offered on a weekly basis with appointments recurring at the same time and day of the week.
All services can be provided by telehealth on an as needed basis though in-person is preferred.
Scheduling Availability
My schedule is full at the moment, but all potential clients are welcome to email as new spots open randomly.
My current schedule consists of Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays, mornings through evenings. Please email me for more specific availability.
Billing: Cost & Insurance Coverage
Individuals interested in private pay can call to discuss their individual needs over the phone. Sessions vary between 60-90 minutes depending on trauma work / number of individuals involved and cost between $175-225 per session. I can discuss sliding scale options for individuals in need.
I am paneled with multiple insurance companies; health plans typically cover therapy for individuals that are impaired / unable to perform at their optimum level due to a mental health diagnosis. There is typically a mental health copay which is sometimes listed on the back of your insurance card or you can discover by contacting member services to find out more. If you are unable to find this information, I can request it for you after we speak by phone. Some insurers require a referral from a medical professional or a preauthorization but you are welcome to email me to discuss your options.
Couples and families seeking therapy are also able to utilize insurance coverage for therapy if the insured individual is impaired due to problems within the family/couple.
I am currently paneled with the following insurance providers:
Aetna
First Choice
Kaiser Permanente
Moda
PacificSource Commercial Insurance
PacificSource Community Solutions (OHP)
Regence Blue Cross | Blue Shield
Samaritan Health
United Behavioral Health

Supervising Experience
I enjoy consultation and processing as well as helping others develop clinical insights as they begin their career in therapy. I offer ongoing supervision to MSWs seeking their licensure hours.
I graduated from UCLA in 2009 and continued from my internship into a career at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, working in a variety of departments. I focused especially on aiding families who were coping with grief and helping victims of child abuse. I provided mental health support to children in the liver and kidney transplant programs, children undergoing regular dialysis, and kids saddled with long-term GI issues. I focused primarily on offering therapeutic support to families with children admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a Level 3C Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit. I was trained in forensic interviewing to assist with the Audrey Hepburn CARES team, working as part of a medical interdisciplinary team to assess injuries and work closely with law enforcement. During this time, I supervised a 2nd year MSW student and trained her to work in as a medical social worker.
From 2013-2018, I developed a Behavioral Health Consultation (BHC) program at Willamette Family Medical Center (WFMC) in Salem, Oregon. Recruiting and leading an interdisciplinary team, we developed policies and regulations for our clinic that was approved by OHA and the local CCO to provide trauma informed mental health services to the community. As the mental health clinical director for the hybrid BHC/mental health program, we improved access to mental health services for the underserved medicaid population. I provided supervision and guidance to a staff that included psychologists, LPCs, LCSWs/MSWs, and PsyD student interns.
While working at WFMC, my wife and I also established a joint private practice and we began Adagio Therapy Center, LLC. I have a passion for doing couples and family work and was able to provide Emotionally Focused Therapy after doing an Externship in 2013 and furthered my training by completing my Core Skills in May 2015 with the Portland EFT group. I later trained in EMDR in 2016 and now provide trauma-focused work in addition to my EFT and ACT work.
